I came across the link to this site while reviewing the Keller Peak repeater web page. With just a few minutes on the OAUSA web page, I could see this site and forum was right up my alley, and after listening in to the net on 7/21, I registered and had access shortly after.
My interests are varied, and include
- Off road adventures (Jeep TJ).
- Camping.
- Ham Radio (new Technician as of June, and now studying for my General).
- Target shooting.
- Hunting and fishing.
- Conservation, management, enhancement, and expansion of wild areas.
I have backpacked extensively in California and some in New Mexico, and hiked the entire John Muir Trail one summer some years back. I've peaked San Jacinto, San Gorgonio, San Antonio, San Bernardino, East San Bernardino, Baden Powell, Whitney, and Phillips to name a few. It does seem like backpacking is on the back-burner for me these days due to job and family demands, but the gear is still in the closet so who knows?
Anyway, thanks for letting me join the forum and listening in on the Nets. I look forward to contributing where I can.

Welcome to OAUSA!!!
If you can make it, you'll enjoy our Borrego Fest event which we hold in the Anza Borrego Desert every year in October. We will be posting information soon, and in addition to some great trail runs, great food and drink, and Ham radio demos you will be able to take your General exam, at camp!
We'll see you on the nets!
