Welcome. We have you logged in.

Given the interest in the run, we'll open up two more spots.

Welcome to OAUSA!

We opened up an extra slot for the trip and you have just filled it. When you get a chance, go to our new members section and let us know a little about you, your rig, and your interests. We will start planning soon and you should check back here often for new information.

RUN REPORT

Everyone returned from the trip, intact. In all respects, the trip was a complete success, including, perfect weather, great food and drink, good trails, great camping spot, great campfires each night, great company, and a terrific tour of Kokoweef. With 9 vehicles, we suffered no breakdowns, and except for trail dust, (of which there was a lot), there were no issues for the entire three days. Thanks to everyone for a great trip, and a special thanks to the crew at Kokoweef for their hospitality and kindness in giving us a special tour of their facilities, the caves and tunnels. There is nothing like seeing history up close and personal to bring it to life.

As an aside, the Kokoweef crew gave us a tour of the back country which surrounds Kokoweef. It was an amazing insight into the mining history of the area. Many thanks to all!!!

Our official trip photographer will post a complete set of pictures, but here is just one of camp set up, complete with the Springbar tent, the Wishy Washy, the camp kitchen, and the Scorpion HF antenna.

I will make a couple of: "To Be Posted" inserts to get started

The Kokoweef trip was filled with all the pieces that make a trip like this "epic" even at only a three day, two night trip, it was more "subject matter" than my skill as an event appointed photog that only scratches the surface of the event. This segment will deal with the first night out and on into the dawn of the new day. The second post will cover the Kokoweef mine complex and the final posting will cover the wrap-up and parting photo of the group. Up front my thanks to Dave, K6DTK and the other OAUSA members who are all members of the "kool kids" out on the trail.
