As a point of reference between smooth and rough finishes, I have Griswold #10 cast iron frying pan that would date between 1930 and 1939. The interior finish is quite smooth and not at all like the Lodge dutch ovens I've bought within the last 10 years.

Actually the Donuts are from Tom, KI6FHA.
He uses biscuit dough like Grands in the refrigerated package.
Poke a hole in each and cook them in a Dutch oven with salad or olive oil until brown and flip them over. Let them cool slightly and sprinkle or shake in a bag of cinnamon sugar.

As I said in the post, they were simply amazing!

That is exactly how I made the donuts! Not quite as fluffy as a real donut.
