Professional photographer, John Aydelotte, KE6U, will be our guest this week and with a little luck, we will cover several of the topics that should be of interest to all who enjoy the outdoors and who enjoy taking pictures. So, dust off your cameras, cell phones, or Yaesu FT 400s and join us.

Having a pocket digital camera or cell phone camera can be an important item to take while out hunting or engaging in other outdoor activities. In the photos below, a small, pocket digital camera allowed me to memorialize a youth hunter's first harvests of game. That hunting trip was a trip he'll never forget, and these photos allow him to share the joy and success of the hunt with friends and family.

My preference is to use a pocket digital camera as opposed to a more robust digital SLR, especially when walking miles a day through brush and rocks while carrying a pack and other hunting gear. Sure, there is a trade off in photo quality, but the weight savings can be substantial. For me, the hunt or other outdoor adventure is more important than the photo, so I'm good with the photos the pocket camera can deliver.

These photos are presented as taken in the field.
