TTora and several other groups will up in Big Bear the same weekend as SummerFest. John Bull (3N10) will likely be the most popular and crowded trail on the mountain especially since Holcomb Creek is still closed. Is anyone interested in running John Bull from west to east on Friday afternoon, say 1:00PM or earlier?

If you don't have sliders I wouldn't recommend JB or Dishpan. Having said that, you're an accomplished driver and with some quality spotting you might just do great. If we do JB west to east I find it to be an easier trail. The trail for JB west to east is pretty close to Pine Flats campground.

I'm interested in JB Friday afternoon. That would allow me to do a different trail with the group on Saturday. Doubt I'll run a trail on Sunday though. I haven't done any Big Bear trails yet. I'm looking forward to this... :D

As stated, I should be there around noon, or a little later. I definately want to run trails fri afternoon. I have never done Bull west to east, only E to W. I am familiar with most of the south and north to east trails. Happy to go to Gold MTN, burnt flats, Jacoby. We could even explore Rattlesnake and heartbreak, though I generally come in from Yucca. Never started from the 18. That could be fun. If everyone wants to run the west trails I am up for it. I think Holcomb is still closed. White mountain is open. We could do the intro to Bull-3n10 from 3n02 to 3n32. Even though Eric is a skilled trail aviator 8-) , I think the armor is needed. But on the other hand, it could present some great photo opportunities.

I do think Bull will be difficult to run on Sat with so many people there. A good fri run might be Gold MTN off the 18 to 3n16 over to Jacoby to the 18 and then Rattlesnake, Heartbreak and pontiac. Is anyone familiar with Ratt, Heart and pont from the 18?

Awesome! So we have 3 maybe 4 for John Bull. I don't want to leave Eric out so lets keep this discussion open and maybe he'll have sliders by then or we can change trails...Glad you you can make it Friday Ollie.

Is anyone planning some moderate runs for Big Bear. I don't trailer my rig so I need to drive it home and I have another wheeling trip planned for Labor Day weekend that I don't want to miss. Two places I would like to avoid are John Bull and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Although, can be fun to sit at the gate keeper to John Bull and watch the carnage .

If anyone knows of a different way up the mountain from Lucern Valley I'd be open to doing that Friday.

I have seen Pinzgauers on the Bull lots of times, no worries. ;) Having said that, I hear what you're saying and as stated earlier would be willing to go a different route in order to run as a group. :D I think a lot will depend on who arrives and when. 8-)
