- 15-17 year old wading boots with felt soles. These prevent slipping on moss covered rocks while fishing.

- I prefer a lighter weight shoe when I hike-in fish and crawl around rocks. These are Gortex and I find myself wet-wading in these from time to time.

My very favorite outdoor (and every day) shoes
My feet tend to get hot while walking or hiking. I’ve been wearing Merrell “Ventilators” for many years, with Merino wool socks, in a wide width.

They ventilate well and are not suitable for cold or wet days, or walking through sharp plant matter.

Best way to tie boot laces, this double knot stays secure and is easy to untie.
