Re: Sign-Up
Dave,
Hope this note finds you well.
I was out with Phil and Scott couple weeks ago, camping in Mojave, and the conversation turned to the Parashant Valley trip. I would really enjoy making the run with the group if possible. Scott B. and I would be traveling in my truck. I have read some the prior posts and traveling with needed resources for a ten day run isn't an issue or a first for us. With a little coordination I would be willing to provide addition carrying capacity for the group. On a side note I am also waiting for a reply to take the Technician Class 3/17 & 3/18 in LB.
Thank you for your consideration.
Looking forward to traveling with the group.

You and Scott are welcome. What type of truck will you use for the trip?

Hi John,
FYI, in case you don't get in the Technician Class in Long Beach, on March 24 my CERT group (with the Los Angeles Amateur Radio Club) will be doing a 1 day Technician Class followed by the test, at the Olympia Medical Center in Los Angeles. If you'd like to get enrolled e-mail me at wz6b@aol.com and I'll get you the info. Obviously it's free, only $15 for the test.
BTW, I have a new callsign: WZ6B!

Thank you for the invite. I may need to take you up on the offer if my delayed flight tonight gets canceled and I don't get home in time. I will circle back if I need to take you up on your offer.
Thank you
John

Dave, My mistake: John's truck is not a duelie.
John: In my opinion, you will do fine by reading one of the exam prep books such as from the ARRL or Gordon West, and then getting an app that generates sample tests and scores you, allowing you to memorize the answers. There are also online sample tests.
If you can regularly get 90%, you'll do fine.
Note that the test questions will change again this July.
