Hello from Nevada
Hello from Nevada
Thank you for adding me to the forum! I started exploring JTNM and the Mojave area in the 1970s and 1980s. Recently I have been doing a lot in the Death Valley and central and northern Nevada areas but I love to get back down to the Mojave when I can. Jack

Welcome to Outdoor Adventure. You are in good company with the places you like to visit. We have several members that have spent considerable time in various parts of the Mojave desert. Tom and I do regular nets on Death Valley and the eastern portion of the California Mojave desert. One of my favorite places.
We really haven't had much exposure to Joshua Tree and we would appreciate any trip reports you may have. Be sure and check-in for our weekly nets.

Thanks Dave!
I recently got back from a 10 day trip checking out some of the Desert Training & CAMA camps from the early 1940s. I used some of the previous trip reports from the forum in my trip planning and they really helped. Here is what I came up with...

Re: Hello from Nevada
Jack - Welcome to the OAUSA forum !!!
CA desert areas are great landscapes for exploration, and you've got the pics to prove it
OAUSA has an annual outing in the Anza-Borrego Desert region in late October - great area to check out, great food, great company - we hope you can join us this year.
OAUSA also has a ham radio Field Day event in late June - so if you like 2-way communications, camping, and fantastic food and wine, with a fun bunch of folks, put it on your calendar
