Just F.Y.I....A few minutes ago a jammer got on IRLP 3216, or the repeater that's connected to IRLP 3216 that is, and was swearing, using the "F" word, and his signal was competing with the NCS, and that guy must be dealt with, otherwise I will need to not listen to the net, until if and when that guy has been shut down, because I can't allow swearing to go over the air here, especially next year, when I plan upon getting a brand new duplexer for my repeater, once I get my income tax refund, as I could not get two used ones to tune right, so I'm going to get a new one, and then I plan upon getting the repeater set up at a repeater site, and then my repeater's signal will probably be heard for 20 or 30 Miles all around and maybe even further than that.

I suppose that I could just use my Android phone, or Android tablet, or my notebook only, and not have the signal go out over the air, but I'd rather have the signal go out over the air, as I would like the locals to hear the net, and maybe even participate, once I get the repeater up and running at the repeater site, as I've had a few Hams here say that they do listen to the net, just that they don't want to check in, or maybe not brave enough to, or whatever...LOL...:D

Bernie

We really appreciate your participation on the nets, and its great to hear that you have others who like to listen. If they are uncomfortable checking in, we understand. For those who are reluctant to get on the air, they can always check in early. Good luck with your repeater!!!

Regarding the jammer, I wish we could shut them down. The FCC has the responsibility for this task, but their limited resources allow them to only go after the really big abusers. These guys (the jammers) usually don't stay on the air long enough for us to get a fix on their location, although we try. We have caught some and will continue to keep working on this.

And, to all those who are hearing a "hum", we are continuing to sort out this problem.
