Re: OAUSA Net - September 20, 2018 - Hunting
Great net; thank you for putting on this topic.
This video has great information based on the fact that firearm and hunting enthusiasts foot the bill on many aspects of wildlife conservation through a special hunting tax that has been in effect for many decades. The funds collected have paid a huge chunk of the wildlife conservation and management costs. If you buy firearms, ammunition and hunting licenses you have contributed to this fund.
Wildlife management agencies realize hunting and hunter numbers are dwindling. With that, so are the funds that support their efforts and their livelihood so talk has been the "hunting tax" should be spread out over all who purchase outdoor equipment and the non-hunters are feeling the crunch. They don't want to be lumped into a "use tax" for the equipment they buy; they are perfectly fine disliking hunting and firearms but now the shoe is on the other foot and they can't stand it. This video, from National Public Radio (probably not so friendly a group towards hunters and firearm enthusiasts) does a good job of laying out the conundrum.

Please support your local and national level shooting advocates and consider passing on your love of the shooting sports and outdoors to someone who will represent that part of our culture in the years to come as well as 2nd Amendment and civil rights.
