2008-07-08: Alternative Power (Solar and Inverters)

Last nights net covered the general topic of alternative power, specifically solar and power inverters. The discussion was focused on power needs for longer expedition type travel and addressed the issues presented by several accessories for camp and vehicle use. The areas discussed included different types of solar panels, charge controllers, batteries, 12v DC to 110v Ac inverters, as well as the type of devices that require power.

The net lasted a little over one and a half hours and we had 32+ check ins.

Sorry I have missed these. Just finally got up to HAM City today and picked up a new antenna, best service I have had so far! Dang "hand" car wash snapped my old one off, so been out of the loop. Sounds like some great info I would have liked to hear.

I recently made some purchases at Ham City/Jun's and am completely sold. Great service, great prices and (for me) much closer to home.
