ARRL Field Day
FIELD DAY What is Field Day - Why Should I do Field Day - How to Prepare - How Do I get More Info - What Do I need, etc.
Field Day is about two weeks away. If you believe in preparing for emergencies or disasters, if you are a member of an emergency prep group, or just want to expand your communications skills, then a visit to a Field Day operation should be on your to-do list.
Our net this week will be on the various benefits of Field Day and how you can participate. Our guest will be Chip Margelli, K7JA. For those fortunate enough to hear his presentations on Ham radio topics, you know the great information that he offers. And, he has some excellent information on Field Day and will be answering any questions that come up.
Join us!!!
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to participate in a Field Day event, but don't know of any, you can check out the ARRL Website. In their USA data base, they have over 800 sites and a map showing many of them. See: http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator

PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT
In keeping with our theme of "camping" for the month of June, tonight's product spotlight is on one of the most important pieces of equipment that we carry, and that is, water!
While it is not critical what kind of carrier we use (assuming that they are safe and DON"T leak), the only remaining area where our water cans have room for improvement, is convenience and conservation. Convenience means ease of use, and when possible, one handed operation, and conservation means that we use as little as possible so that it lasts for the duration of our trip.
For us, there are a few well defined uses of water:
The JAGMTE website is almost entirely devoted to Scepter and LCI water and gas cans. With respect to water cans, they have designed several products that improve their functionality and convenience. I routinely use my 2.5 gallon Scepter can for the kitchen, and decided to replace my trusty long hose faucet which leaked and required two hands to operate. The JAGMTE Scepter (and LCI) water can cap replacement is self venting (eliminating leaking) and only requires one hand to operate. Convenient, efficient, and simple. See: https://jagmte.com/collections/scepter- ... ot-kit-mwc.
One note: In order to get the spigot positioned correctly, and to eliminate leaking, you will need a cap wrench, which JAGMTE sells. They are cheap, and having two would be a good idea.

- Hand washing. For this use the Wishy Washy is king.
- Showering. For this use, it is the shower pump that matters
- Kitchen Duties. This is where our product spotlight comes in

Check in please - Thanks - Bernie
However, I see that the World Conference isn't online right now, so if that's not online when it becomes net time, then you can ignore the check in request.
