  • 440 Gain 7.0 dBd (9 dBi)

One of my worries with a solar panel on the roof was vibration due to air buffeting. Sure enough, at speeds above 55 mph I was getting a low frequency hum. An additional wind deflector in front of the panel fixed that problem. The original wind deflector is below the rack.

Old configuration of my rack showing I utilized space. This shows wood, which I’m unlikely to bring in the future since I now bring a propane fire pit.

I had some extra space on the rack, so moved everything around (mainly propane holders to sides) to coalesce this space in the middle. There was no container that fit this area, so I built one out of ½” plywood covered with a grey waterproofing, attempting to shape the box to be somewhat aerodynamic. I use this to hold tent poles, longer tools, camping chairs, etc.
