KK6CTT for the online check-in please (06/30/22), Thanks.

Sounded like a great time; enjoyed hearing what I missed.

Product Spotlight

Green Mountain Grills Trek Portable Smoker

My tri-tip was a big hit at Field Day, and everyone was asking about my smoker.
It is a Green Mountain Grills Davy Crocket, the newer model is called the Trek.
The smoker is pellet fed, with an electric igniter. It runs on 12V DC and aslo comes with a 120V adapter. I like the footprint and features of this one, over other similar models. It has a larger pellet capacity, so you can do a 6 hour rib roast without adding more pellets. It does have a low pellet alarm, just in case you need to add some. It can be operated from the front panel, or via its Wi-Fi app. From there, you can control the grill temperature and monitor the food probe temperature. You can also set the smoker temperature and cooking profile. It will go from a low temp smoking at 150 deg F up to a searing temperature of 550 deg F. There is enough surface area to smoke 2 tri-tips at the same time. I have also done whole chickens, rib roasts, and pork ribs. The Pellets used for the trip-tip, at Field Day, were Bear Mountain BBQ Woods Gourmet, a blend of Oak, Hickory, Maple, and Cherry hardwoods.

Cheese list:

Roaring Forties (blue) - Australian cheese from King Island, south of Melbourne.

La Dama Sagrada - La Dama Sagrada, or 'sacred lady,' hails from Spain’s La Mancha region. It is made from a milk brought over from a nearby Murciano goat farm in the town of Carpio de Tajo, just outside of Toledo.

Red Rock - Red Rock cheese is an American original: A cave-aged cheddar with a hint of blue.

Barnburner - The Barnburner is a smoked cheddar unlike anything you’ve had before! Blocks of Barnburner are made from unpasteurized cow’s milk at Grafton Village Cheese Company in Vermont, and then shipped to Crown Finish Caves in Brooklyn to be aged to perfection.

Aries - An original Alpine style cheese made from sheep's milk out of Paso Robles.

Brabander - Goat milk Gouda. Made with pasteurized goat milk in North Brabant, Netherlands. Aged by Fromagerie L’amuse.
