damn knee

Post by big dave » Thu Aug 14, 2008 6:26 pm

I wont be doing any adventuring for a while. Back in school, i broke my right knee during a football game. This morning i was sweeping the driveway, when i slipped on a pile of pine needles i was about to scoop up. My right leg went out from under me and the knee dislocated and popped back in place in what seemed like the same time. Its all swollen and mr doctor says that i pulled this and that. Hopefully ill be back in the game later this week. Im going grab my old man crutch and go out to the Pathfinder in a few moments and see if its comfortable to sit in, and possibly drive to Big Bear for the Fest.

I never knew pine needles were so slippery  I just got back from an xray, and i have a torn Lateral collateral ligament. Im in a neoprene support with metal reinforcements for about a week. Doc says it should heal up just fine, but i cant keep injuring this knee, and "try to injure the left knee next time".

It took me a while to figure out how to get in the truck this morning

Im not camping this weekend. I might load up the kids and come up to the campsite for a couple of hours and visit. If i go up, ill take the Expedition and go check out Holcomb Valley with the kids. I need to be home and elevating my leg as much as possible this weekend. Doc says im fine, but im still sore as hell, and in a regular neoprene support.
