Past Trail Runs:
Jacoby Trail, Big Bear - Spring 2008 - I attended a Toyota Trail Team event at Big Bear and signed up for the beginner trail which ended up being at Jacoby. It truly is a beginner trail with area needed for spotting. If you don't have a spotter, just take your time picking your line and you should be fine. I was among many stock rigs and they all made it without a problem. The trail took no less than 2 hours with about 10 rigs so it's a very short trail.
Old Mojave Road - Fall 2007 - My first camping expedition with other FJ Cruiser owners. I've lived in California all my life and only now did I discover the beauty of the desert. Little did I know about the wonders south of the 15 FWY. It's a great primer for future expeditions and is also 2WD friendly for the most part.
Death Valley - Winter/Spring 2008 - I have had the please to visit trails in and around Death Valley National Park. There is so much eye candy there from wild flowers, wild life, ghost towns, and mining ruins. It takes multiple visits to explore the vastness of the area. Within one day, you can be in a valley of volcanic rock, drive up to high altitudes for winter snow, see a prehistoric dry lake bed, and travel on a trail off the map. There is so much more to see.

Hungry Valley - The closest OHV area to my home off the 5 FWY at the Goreman exit. It's a huge playground to test your driving skills. There are many other trails close by including miller Jeep trail which I have yet to conquer.

Azusa Canyon - If you want mud, go to Azusa Canyon. It's a must for newbie wheelers. You don't have to drive in the mud as the terrain differs. You can also watch the locals play in their 6+ inch lifted trucks.
Mt. Pinos & Frazier Park - Trails close to Hungry Valley which give you a quick fix for off-road adventures. Watch out for snow during winter and enjoy the scenery.
Oceano Dunes - I love Pismo Beach and Oceano Dunes. The area is family friendly with inexpensive motels and great food. Test your rig in the sand but try not to go alone.
