I feel the same way... a good radio has been on my list for years now... I just need the time to sit and study and take the test!BorregoWrangler wrote:...well kinda. Just came over from adventure4x4. Re: New member...
Welcome to our new home, Borregowrangler !!! You can take practice tests and study on-line for your Tech license, so you can go at your own pace. Or many amateur radio clubs offer weekend classes - take the 1 or 2 day class, and take the test at the end... usually there's a fee for the class, but it definitely saves time.
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear really bright, until they start talking

Good to see you over here BorregoWrangler.
Check out http://www.qrz.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for a place to take free ham practice tests. There may be others, but that's where I studied when I got my license.

Hey, thanks guys!
Yeah, on my last trail run, Eric (SD Native) was telling me a couple ways to go about getting the license. I got a new CB I gotta install here soon and then I'll be looking into getting a HAM and licence.

My friend at work conducts Saturday classes around San Diego county. Class is free and test costs $5. I'll keep everyone posted when the next one comes up. I know he has a General class test coming up in June.
