2008-05-08: Outdoor Navigation

Last nights net, on Keller Peak, covered the topic of outdoor navigation, specifically the use of the GPS receiver. We had 24 check-ins with a few more that we knew were listening on echolink, but who were having technical problems with their transmission. There was very good participation from the group with very good information on the subjects of the SPOT transceiver, ARPS, and various computer mapping programs for use with A GPS receiver. Thanks to all who checked in and to those who contributed to our discussion. Again, to those who have experience with these subjects, please post as much of your knowledge as you can on the forum.
