Anza-Borrego & Ocotillo Wells

Well I rolled out of town real early saturday to prerun my friday route for BorregoFest. The weather was great. Maybe 91 at the most. It wasn't until the end of the run that I actually started running into other folks having fun in the desert. Other than a few jack rabbits and a pack of coyotes, I had the whole place to myself! On the way back I decided to head up into Coyote Canyon. The third crossing still has a good amount of water in it and I came up on some Toyotas that were having a tough time getting up boulder alley. It seems that when the park went in there and smashed up some of the rocks, it created a lot of loose, low traction areas. Its gonna be fun!

I know whenever you disappear for a few days you're going to come back with a good story. I'm glad to hear that some of the rock gardens in Coyote are still somewhat challenging, that will be fun for the night runs. Also let's keep that in mind for the 2WD vehicles. Cool video too.

Nice job on the video edit and I like the music choices too! Good to see that coyote canyon is still a little rockalicious! Were those coyotes running through the bushes?

Thanks, Craig. Yep, those coyotes alright. They were crossing San Felipe Wash, heading into the hills after their night hunt, I'm sure. There were about eight of them.

Sorry I missed this one... I thought about joining you but I didn't get to bed until midnight. Can't wait to get home to see the video and pics.

Yep. He ended up backing down to wait on reinforcements. The 4WD's did a little better. It's gonna be fun at night! :D
