Mohave Preserve for Winter Run?

I think it's about time to formalize this Fest. Set the destination in stone, vote on the dates and reformat the first post. That way we can all start planning accordingly. It just looks like alot of speculation at this point.

I was thinking the same thing. I think we can create a poll for choosing dates on this website but I don't know how to create one? Do we have a couple of dates in mind? Based on the majority of comments throughout the thread, January appears to be the preferred month.

In January we have the following dates to choose from: I chose Friday, Sat. Sunday because most choose to take off Friday instead of Monday however since MLKJ's birthday is observed on the 3rd Monday of every January we may choose to use a Sat, Sun, Monday format for the 3rd weekend of the month?

January:

2nd, 3rd & 4th

9th, 10th & 11th

16th. 17th, 18th

or 17th, 18th & 19th (MLKJ Birthday observed)

23rd, 24th & 25th

30th, 31st & Feb 1st

This is a 3 day trail run with two nights camping in locations along the route. Let's pick a date and work on the route and particular stops within the thread. Are you interested?

You know we could always base our camps at 2 campgrounds on the Mohave Preserve. There is Mid Hills campground, and Hole in the Rock campground.

Both have spectacular trails available nearby, and lots of mining stuff. I myself will be heading an all day trail runs to a couple of mines.

We dont particularly have to stick on Mohave Road.

I like the idea of breaking of into sub groups based on similar interests Dave. I would prefer to free camp if at all possible.
