I ran out to Anza Borrego hoping to meet Bobonel anImage

I ran into lots of locals in Bajas and buggies, very nice people.

I bought a steak last minute at the market in Borrego Springs and since I didn't bring my grill I had to get creative by cooking on my space heater. Potatoes in the foil, steak on top.

Oh man was that good!

Was in the low 40's, nice and brisk but not too cold. I left the rain cover off the tent to see the stars and there were plenty. A fire felt good in the morning.

Morning hike up to the waterfall. There were lot's of dove, humming birds and Monarch butterflies.

Looks like you had a great outing! Where is that waterfall and how long is the hike to get there?

Straight up the canyon, maybe a mile form the horse hitch, at most.

Looks like you had a perfect night up there. Gibson looks content too. Sometimes camping alone has its merits. ;)

It was great, very quiet. So quiet in fact that after playing guitar for an hour and staring at the stars I got board. That's when I remembered I have DVD players. Having never used them and owning them for 2 1/2 years I thought I would try it out. So I watched Hancock which the kids left in the car, not such a good movie but it was cool. I felt like I was at the drive in. I had the doors open and it was cold but cozy. What a city slicker, but it was fun and that's what matters.

Gibson was content but that look was from a dog who was glad to be out of a bouncing swaying rig. He managed to throw up twice on the way out there. :(
Fortunately I had covered everything with towels, just in case. :D We did have a good time, hope your weekend was good as well.

I was out on the run with those guys on Friday, if I had known you were gonna be up there I would have camped with ya. Bobo and I decided to call off the camping cause it was just the two of us and she had mechanical problems.

Sorry about that Braden, I was flying by the seat of my pants and couldn't confirm whether I would be there or not.

Dude, you're making me thirsty!

Ah yes, last time I camped out alone was also at Sheep Canyon. Just sitting alone in the dark next to the fire with nothing but your thoughts... and that thing you keep seeing from the corner of your eye. There's always somthing moving over where you can't quite see it. You look again but it isn't there. Ever see it? Yeah, I enjoy freakin' myself out somtimes.

Looks, like you had a good time there, Scott. I've been stuck in town moving.

LOL. I have freaked my self out in the water before. Up north in Jalama, I've been out by myself miles from anyone and swore I saw a shark. Scared my self silly. Haha

Sheep Canyon is one of those places where I don't worry too much about animals, people maybe but not animals. The coyotes don't even seem to ever come into camp? Anyway hope you get settled in soon, where is it that you live now.
