ronb's h1
Re: ronb's h1
They made it through. It wasn't done without some corner panel damage though. Non the less... It was impressive because even the smaller trucks squeeze through that one.

I saw the trucks afterwards -- looks like quite a bit of paint was left behind. Some lube on the sides of the trucks may have helped?! Been through alot of tight squeezes with those guys, but glad I happened to miss that one.

Awesome H1! I love those things. I'd love to see it up close.
Re: ronb's h1
thanks for the hummer-love -- hope to be on the trails with it as soon as I get it back from the shop. I just had the factory "roll cage" beefed up a bit, now I'm adding 39.5 iroks, beadlocks, 2" lift, front locker, and a rock-ram. A money-pit, but a fun one.

Re: ronb's h1
It's been a while -- to update, my truck is done. However, I haven't even seen it in person yet
I went to NY for a short 4 week job that turned into an 8 month deal. Now I can pay for all the work but have missed a bunch of cool trips/trails (Fordyce, Moab, several So Cal trips). My mechanic delivered the finished truck, so it's home alone waiting for some abuse (barely fits in the garage). I'll report back with pictures next time I'm home for a few days.

I remember that guy with the flags on his rig. A couple of friends of mine got some video of him going through Odessa, scraping and crunching all along

Odessa is a tight squeeze for sure (perhaps pulling the trailers through there wasn't the best idea) and there were some tight squeezes on Fordyce for Rick as well.
I've been here in Manhattan since the end of July and will probably be here until May 1st. I'm hoping to go to Moab the 1st week of April with the usual suspects plus I'll be home to see my family once a month for a long weekend -- so I'll try to get a little wheeling done every so often to at least keep my truck happy.

Re: ronb's h1
got home for the halloween weekend to hang with my son. Finally got to check out the truck and snap a few pictures. I haven't messed around with the limit straps yet...but with some tweaking I'll be able to get at least another 2 inches of height out of the suspension. Right now with 39.5 iroks (at 35 psi) and the bags inflated to 170 psi (max 200) there's about 20 inches of ground clearance down the middle and 23/24 inches to the rocker panels. As all our trucks, it's a work in progress (black hole really!).
