Hello OAUSA,
I have a Nissan Frontier (05) and unfortunately only 2WD. Anyone have a good remote location (San Diego Area) that is obtainable with the willingness to bounce around and use the two wheel drive to the max? I have a personal trip plan, and was aiming for desert like area (Ocotillo, Borrego, Death Valley, Etc)
Advice? Suggestions?

If you are looking for spots in the SD area, you can't do much better than Anza Borrego. It has slightly over 500 miles of dirt roads, much are two wheel drive rated. There are several guys here on the forum (borrego wrangler, sdnative, and Ollie, to name just a few) who can give you some specific suggestions.
One of your best bets it to call the rangers and ask them what is currently good for 2wd vehicles. They usually are one of the most up to date sources of information. If you go, try to do the trip with more than one vehicle and be sure to let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return. Good maps are available from several sources - one of the best is a book and map by Lowell and Diana Lindsay. It is a great information and historical resource for travels in the ABDSP. Good luck and post up some pics!

Lower Coyote Canyon and Fish Creek are just a few excellent semi remote places in Anza Borrego you could go and camp with a 2wd. There are also several semi-primitive "yellow post" campsites in Big Bear that are accessible in 2wd.

I'm going to miss the BIG ONE(Mojave). That's the bad news.
Now the good news. Got the new MB. I should be up for a 1/2 to 3/4 day trip.
In the last three years i've explored a lot of new places. Depends on what you want.
