Yaesu FT-8900r Quad Band with matched Diamond CR8900 antenna

Post by xtatik » Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:06 am

Recently upgraded license and radio. The poor 8900 has sat since then. It's approx. a year-old (have receipts from HRO) FT-8900r Quad Band with the Diamond CR8900 antenna. The antenna folds and has been fortified with an extra layer of marine heat shrink (adhesive lined) to the loading coils to protect from small limbs and vibration. It does not include the remote head kit or antenna mount as I'm using it for the new rig. It does include the manual and programming software and I'll include a disk of it"s current program file. It is currently programmed with nearly every repeater (or systems) in SoCal metro areas and So. Nevada. And, has every usable repeater for our desert and mountain regions from the Mex border to the northern Sierra, and east and west Mojave. This'll save you tons o' time. I'm in the process of programming my new rig and it's a pain.
Anyway it's $375.00 firm.

What radio did you replace it with that allowed the same separation kit to work ?

(I'm guessing, with a license upgrade, it's an FT857D w/ an ATAS120A... 8-) )

Congratulations on your new privledges and new radio.

And welcome to the forum... ;)

Good guess! And, sorry for confusing you with my post. I never purchased the separation kit. The radio was small enough to fit where I wanted without one. I was referring to the C400 lipmount and coax kit....It's being used with the new rig.

Well, congratulations on your new ham rig - I have the same set up in my FJC, and it works great...how about some more info about yourself and your vehicle ?
