I got good news and I got bad news...

Post by BlueFJ » Sun Feb 15, 2009 2:58 pm

First the good... I just got a great job at General Atomics! :D :D :D
Now the bad... It's 2nd shift so I might not be able to participate in or record the nets any more. :x :x :x
I'll find out if it's cool to Echolink in from work.
On a side note, is there any plan to link up Keller Peak with any San Diego area 2 meter repeaters for the OAUSA Net?

Congratulations! I had an internship there while in college. What group are you with?

Worked in the advanced process systems group:

http://www.ga.com/atg/APS/scwo/index.php

and the inertial fusion group:

http://fusion.gat.com/global/IFT.

They have a magnetic fusion reactor (DIII-D) on-site. Check it out when you get a chance.

Craig:

Congratulations on the job.

Yes, there is a plan in place to set up IRLP for Keller. This will link us to several repeaters in the Southwest, including San Diego. From what I can tell, most of the work has been done to get this going but the recent snow has temporally put the brakes on the project. Dennis is working diligently to get the link set up. As soon as it is, we will announce it.
