3/19/09 OAUSA Net - Outdoor Navigation with map and compass

Post by DaveK » Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:21 pm

Bruce Krell, AE6VG, will be hosting our net this Thursday. He will be completing the series on outdoor navigation using map and compass. Any one who ventures out into the outdoors, especially the more remote locations, should check in.

The net was excellent. Bruce has a wealth of map and compass information and he is very good at bring this knowledge to the nets. Knowledge of map and compass usage should almost be mandatory if one's plans include wilderness travel.

I sure hope that there was not a system wide problem with echolink as that is our usual method of recording these nets. We can't afford any more "lost episodes".
