Off Road Trailer
I've been eying off road trailers lately and came across the Campa trailers, http://www.campausa.com/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Seems like a well made, (USA) trailer. A little pricey, but good. Looking for some feedback on this trailer or on any other similar trailer, like the Adventure Trailer ( http://www.adventuretrailers.com/fridges.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ), the Safari Trailer (although they, the company, seem very unstable) or the Desert Wolfe ( http://www.desert-wolf.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; very expensive).

That brand is new to me. They look cool. What does "pricey" mean exactly compared to the adventure trailers?

Here's my take on the AT Chaser... I had the privileged tow around the prototype for about 3,000 miles... Review here.
Another option might be

They look pretty nice and have lots of discussion on other forums.

Check out the silverware holder on the door.. pretty slick

In excess of $15k and with the Wolf brand, in excess of $20K, as I recall.

I don't mean this as a dig at all... but do you (or anyone) really need so much stuff as to require a trailer?

Re: Off Road Trailer
I think that might depend on the vehicle. A regular jeep (not the XJ 4-door version) is limited on cargo spece. So for an expedition a trailer of this kind is handy.traveltoad wrote:I don't mean this as a dig at all... but do you (or anyone) really need so much stuff as to require a trailer?

I guess it all depends, when I was 21 all I needed was a backpack to do a 3 month trip of the US talk about learning to pack light. There is a lot of stuff we don't really need to haul around

Absolutely. For back country travel when you must carry everything, including firepans (required in many parks), firewood, sufficient water, gasoline, etc., it is a must. ESPECIALLY when you are staying for 4 or more days and your trailer serves the needs of several campers. It not only carries the essentials but the extra space allows for some luxuries such as a hot water shower, solar panels to power various appliances, and comfortable chairs to sit in while consuming an adult beverage as the sun sets! Its OK to be in the wilderness but there is no need to be primitive.

Re: Off Road Trailer
Well I am the new kid on the block, not only on this site, but in the expedition trailer business.
I have built a trailer that I will be selling shortly. Ollie is quite familiar with it. He has seen the development since day one. It is rolling as we speak but a few things need to be completed. If Ollie would be so gracious as to post the pictures I have sent to him and Frogeye it would be great.
Or you can email me at bob@airenetworks.com for the full picture history.
Pricing is very affordable, and we guarantee the trailer to be of equal quality and craftsmanship as the Adventure Trailer, with out the terrible cost.
