OLLIE, Have you talked or coordinated with Steve on a "talk-in" frequency? This is usually a 2m freq.(minimally) and is posted to the ARRL site along with location info, etc. Were we planning to make this as public as posting to the ARRL site? I understand this could depend on the accomodations afforded by the location we ultimately end up at, but it may be something to consider and incorporate into your comm plan.

Just an FYI, the 147.330 is the Big Bear ARC Repeater located on Sugarlump Mountain. I serviced it for the club for a couple years when I lived there. Still trying to make it...

I checked out the Big Bear Repeater ARC website today. These guys apparently run a Field Day event every year and are quite serious about it. Check out their set up in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAnjxFTR ... ture=email . Quite impressive, but we will do our best to give them a good run for their money. Maybe they will let us use their tower.
I doubt that they would want us using their repeater to give out directions to a competing Big Bear Field Day operation.
As a general heads up - we have arranged for the use of at least two other repeaters and we will be firming up our selection as soon as we can get to the site and determine which is best.
