April 1, 2010 Net - Best Mobile Ham Radios

Post by DaveK » Thu Apr 01, 2010 3:24 pm

We made a last minute switcheroo on net topics for tonight.

For all those who are looking to either buy a mobile radio or to upgrade the mobile radio you already have, tonight's net should help. Our subject will be, "what are the best mobile radios and why".

If you have a particular model that you think deserves to be mentioned, check-in and tell us why. No foolin'.

This should be a great topic of discussion - I hope I'm within range long enough to participate

If I make it home quick enough, I can try out the Elk Antenna... ;)

Since you have the Yaesu HF/VHF/UHF all mode rig, I would really like your input. Maybe stay late at work. I will call on you first so you can get on the road.

The net turned out really well. We were finally able to bring it to a close at about 9:45PM, with 34 check-ins.

Great input from more than 30 hams about what they use and why. For anyone looking to buy their first radio or even to upgrade, this net would be a good place to start.

Stay tuned - I'm sure this recording of this net will be posted on the site in a few days if you want to review what was discussed... ;)
