Test locations
Well, I think I'm ready to take the Tech test. Read through the ARRL study guide and I've been doing well with the online tests. I've been looking for a testing location and they seem far and few between. I was going to wait another couple of weeks until we had moved back to SD but I can't find a single test location in San Diego. So, I'm going to bite the bullet and try it this week. Wish me luck. Been wanting to do this for awhile now.

Re: Test locations
Awesome. Thanks for that link. None of those appear when you search for a test on the ARRL site.

Re: Test locations
That's where I've been looking. Maybe I'm just being lame but nothing in SD appears. There's Hemet, Palm Desert, Mission Viejo, Huntington Beach but no SD. Weird.xtatik wrote:http://www.arrl.org/find-an-amateur-rad ... am-session

No, you're absolutely right. I put in two zip codes within SD county and got zip! I think the ARRL still has work to do on the new site.smslavin wrote:That's where I've been looking. Yeah, when they redesigned the web site, a few things went south. The maps, via Google, are also not all correct for some test sites, such as the one in Mission Viejo, it appears to be a few streets off. So look up the location maps separately on your own. Direct through Google will get them right.

Re: Test locations
I work with the team leader for the main testing group down here in San Diego. I'll get the schedule from him and post it up here until the ARRL gets their issues adjusted.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear really bright, until they start talking

Mission Viejo had about 60 people come to take the tests last night, most Technician and a good number from San Diego! My wife got her’s so we’re almost ready to go, though I wanted to take a yagi to the top of Wildrose Peak, and looking now, I am not sure there is a good line back to Keller or K6BB.
So, maybe I will have an excuse!
