Beautiful run even with the mud (one spot) and the flop (one truck - not a hard roll). I'll download my pics and post them up soon.
Thanks for having us (me and my 5 year old Grace)!!!

Painted Gorge Run
What an incredible day. Blue sky and great sights. I had never been to the Painted Gorge and was looking forward to the Run. Our trail boss was Ollie, who was joined by his mother, son and nephew. Ollie did a great job of guiding and informing us as we travelled along. Our rear end was Larry--I mean tailgunner
. All together we had 13 rigs with Steve KJ joining us at the gas station.
We left camp for the gas station some miles off and topped off and aired down. Then on to Painted gorge. The colors were impressive as was the spectacular photo opportunities at the top of the gorge. We took a group photo and had time to walk around. It was then time to go to Split Mountain and we hit some racing on the way. We also met up with John and his group. John was lucky enough to have a landcruiser that performed tricks. It would roll over on its side to have its belly rubbed.
Across the bombing ranges we did go and then hit Split MTN and then to Diablo drop off. As we were headed back to the blacktop, part of the crew took a wrong turn, but our fearless leader was able to put the train back together. As we were going out in the narrow washes, that held some deep sand and a bit of mud, My wife and I were making fun of the FJ factory horn and how weak it is. We were laughing so hard, I failed to slow down for a sharp turn with deep sand and mud and hit the muck a bit too fast and the wall. "Oh boy, that's going to leave a mark!" The FJ got its revenge and the bead on my front pass tire took a hit and started to leak. Larry then got stuck in the mud.
A great day. It was good to see old friends and put faces to names. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to put on a great Fest.
Regards, Steve

Re: 2010 BorregoFest Painted Gorge Run Report
Well I figured that I'd better post this up first. Just a little mishap that tunegoon got himself into. Glad no one was injured.
This occurred just below Diablo Drop-off, in the narrow canyon (Broken Shaft Gulch) on the way out into Fish Creek. Driver error. It just goes to show that you can't take things for granted even on easy trails. A lapse in concentration or getting distracted can cause just such an incident. No one was hurt and the Toyota was able to complete the trail run.

Nice video, glad he kept his arm inside and they were all fine. BTW it's an FJ62 not a 60.
