November 11, 2010 -- Winch Riggings

Post by toms » Thu Nov 11, 2010 8:18 am

The topic for this net is Winch riggings. We would like to talk about rigging more complex winch solutions beyond the basic single line and double line pulls. We can discuss 2 direction pulls - 2 vehicles, 2 direction pulls - one vehicle, reverse pulls, roll overs, and others. We are interested if you have a complex recover to relate or a special solution you have used.

If anyone has some great pictures of a vheicle in need of winch recovery or the recovery its self, post them here. Before the net would be great and will allow us to discuss it.

Here is one that required several steps to recover.

Same road, different spot, several years later. This rigging is not going to work as is.

This is a demo set up by the instructor. The winch on the stuck vehicle is not being used. There is a pulley block on the end of the blue line. The rigging is being inspected before the actual recovery.
