New here

Post by nick_n_ii » Tue Nov 30, 2010 10:10 am

Hi all I'm Nick.

I'm a outdoors-men, family guy, Cub Scout leader, web site owner and a love of all things outdoors. I'm big into Jeep Cherokees, wheeling, building and adventuring in them. Currently I'm located in the thumb of Michigan. Not a back location for fishing but kinda bland for wheeling. Lots of history though and that makes it cool when it comes to hiking.

Just thought I'd join up a place that's not in my back yard or a site that's not located a few miles from me.

So far looks good lots of info so I guess I'll be reading alot.

Welcome to OAUSA, Nick !!!

While it may be tough for us to meet on the trail, I think you'll find a lot of useful information and interesting folks on this site. We are also into amateur radio (ham), and have a weekly on-air net that discusses various outdoor / off-road related topics...While you're not in repeater range to participate by radio, if your a licensed ham you can join us on echolink. If you aren't licensed, you'll find recordings of these nets archived here on the site for your review.

Please feel free to share any stories you have about your adventures in MI, along with any insights you might have for us on any topic of interest to you...

Thanks for joining us... :D

Hey Nick:

Great to have you join us all the way from Michigan. Many of us are from the Southwest but we always enjoy hearing about good trails anywhere in the US. I seem to recall that the Nuge lives in your neck of the woods and if memory serves, he has showcased some great outdoor adventures right in your back yard.

Welcome aboard!

Glad to have you on the site Nick. I love Michigan. Do you do much hunting during the year?

I haven't been able to get out hunting this year.

I do a lot of fishing though. Bass, and Trout are the 2 I love going for..
