New to OAUSA

Post by ScottyDog » Thu Dec 23, 2010 10:15 pm

Hi folks my name is Scott and I've been a long time lurker.. to be honest, I usually float around more on IH8MUD and ExPo... not sure why but never registered on here..
Anyway, I reside in Gardena, Ca (So LA / So Bay) and try and get to the outdoors when I can.. I've got 2 passions other than God and Family... Its offroading and fishing!! Ever since high skool I've had some type of offroad truck, but the love affair has always been the many various types of Land Cruisers. My current truck that I picked up from another MUDDER is a 1997 FZJ80... Luckily I have a great younger brother that shares the same love of the outdoors and Land Cruisers, so it is a sick hereditary disease(His is an awesome 1987 FJ60)!! This LC genetic disorder is so bad my 19 y/o son has a 1989 FJ62 tooo! LOL

Anyway, this is an awesome site and hope I can post up some quality reports up if and when I can ever get out and take some pics!

This was in RedRock Cyn off of 14 Fwy and Garlock Road last Christmas (09) My brother's 04 Taco prior to his FJ60

Welcome to OAUSA, Scott !!

I can appreciate your Landcruiser obsession - I'm on my 7th (well, my current rig is in the Landcruiser family - an FJ Cruiser). I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your rig in action, and hearing about your adventures with your brother and son, too...

Thanks for the warm welcome. I like light tackle fishing, so I do quite a bit of surf fishing in OC & LA county.. And when I get the chance a few times a year we go and fish the Eastern Sierras. I just started trying my hand at fly fishing this past summer, but need lots more practice.

Years ago I would surf fish down in Mexico. Come nightfall, build a fire on the beach and cook up my catch. Now I fish the bays or along the lower Colorado River.

Welcome aboard Scott. Nice trucks! I do a bit of fishing too. Mostly from my Kayak in SD and Mission Bay.

Scott:

Welcome aboard. It looks like you might have some good trail reports to share, especially those that deal with good fishing spots here in So Cal.
