Anza-Borrego Desert State Park: Fish Creek & Sandstone Canyon
Saturday, March 26th 2011

This Saturday, I'm able to get out for the day and would like to head on out to Sandstone Canyon. I haven't been since the earthquakes tore things up in there and Scott's recent trip report has me itching' to go. Besides Sandstone and Fish Creek I really don't have much planned. Its been forever since I've been up North Fork Fish Creek and its tributaries, so I'd like to check those out as well. It'll be nice not spending a Saturday changing diapers!

I'd realy like to do Sandstone myself after reading Scott's report, but I don't want to drive that far for a day run.

If anyone wants to camp out Saturday night, that would be a different story.

Braden-

I maybe up for a Friday night, Saturday run. I realize that is not what you asked but my wife has Friday's off and it's a perfect opportunity for us get out. If you can get Friday early maybe we can meet up. I'm thinking about camping in the wind caves since they would safe from flash floods and weather still looks a little precarious. I will talk to her today about Saturday night today.

I will be in the area sometime that Saturday. I will first be at the Vallecito County Park for Vallecito Days. Then I will head down S-2 for more Jeeping and Photography and some light hiking. I will be monitoring the HAM freqs.

This may work. I can't be there by 7. If the wife and daughter come then I will wheel the 4runner and stay around coyote and fonts. If not then I will bring the FJ and try to hook up with you all somewhere, somehow. Perhaps we can exchange cell numbers and I will turn on my Ham radio to moniter, but have no clue how to find whatever channel  It would be nice to get some good pictures. I should be in the area around 9am.

I agree the weather looks a little scetchy. Don't know if that will be good for me as I still sleep in the Jeep.
I might have to pass on this run due to the weather.

I will be monitoring frequency 147.510 for those with hams. Today's weather report is showing 0% chance of rain out there on Saturday, but I'll be keeping an eye on it until then.

For those who can't make the 7:00 meet up in Ramona, I'll be hanging out at the Fish Creek primitive campsite as soon as I get there. Hopefully by then, we'll be in contact with anyone who's on their way. Lookin' forward to seeing ya'll there! :D

John do you have directions to the campsite/ coordinates? What time do you think you will be there?
