October 6th through 10th or 11th, 2011

Join us as we make way for the Hole-in-the-Rock Trail; 34 miles each way, through some of the most uninhabited, unspoiled land in Utah. It follows part of a much longer route blazed by Mormon missionaries driving covered wagons during the winter of 1879-80 from Escalante to what would become the town of Bluff on the San Juan River. The Hole in the Rock Trail is often confused with the Hole in the Rock Road. Almost anything with tires can make it over Hole in the Rock Road; this is the much more rugged part of the emigrants’ journey that began after they skidded their wagons down the mile long dugway and ferried them all across what was then the Colorado River.
Difficult rating is due to the exploratory nature of the trip. We'll be taking several side trips to explore the area and see some evidence of the pilgrim's passage. Link to site: Offroad Passport Calendar: http://www.offroadpassport.com/forum/ca ... =2011-10-6
Sorry for the late notice on this. The trip was full until this weekend and all of a sudden we've had several cancelations.
