As I was sitting at the kitchen table last night listening to my HT, there was a group of people talking about boots. Not what you normally hear on the amateur airwaves. I checked out the web site thought I would join the group. I like Outdoor Adventure. Hiked to the top of Mt San Gorgonio for my 50th birthday last month. Backpacking, camping and being in the outdoors is where I would rather be. Do not own a 4wd vehicle. However, I do have a good pair of boots.

Welcome to the group. No need to have a 4x4, many places you can get to with a 2wd, and most of us do other things as well. Hike, shoot, photography, camping, it is all welcome.

Welcome to OAUSA, Greg !!!

We're about vehicle-dependent outdoor hobbies, not just 4 wheeling...and our net topics cover all types of outdoor related topics...

Since you were listening to the OAUSA net, I assume you're a ham - call sign ? We can add you to the OAUSA Amateur Radio Operator's Roster...

Welcome to the forum, Greg. Plenty of folks here enjoy getting out for some hiking, including myself.

Hopefully we'll see you out there sometime.

Greg:

We're glad you enjoyed the net on Thursday. We cover a lot of topics, including many that do not involve 4WD vehicles. Let us know other net topics that you would like to hear on the nets.

With the growing interest in hiking here at OAUSA, I think you will find something to your liking.

Welcome aboard!

Welcome Mr. Palmer-

Your timing is excellent as our largest get together of the year is just upon us.

On Sutrday I'll be leading a leisurely 5 miler with just 1500ft of elevation gain. If you would like to join us, check in here.

If you own a high clearance 2wd or a standard 4wd drive you can make the trail out there. If you have neither you can still come out and meet us and I'll give you a tour to the trailhead. Your vehicle will be safe at the main campground and among lots of friends.

Come on out and join us.
