Nice Calico visit

Post by aw12345 » Fri Nov 11, 2011 1:28 pm

Calico was a fun little trip, Gate Keeper got tackled, little rough on my fancy rear fenders other than that it was not as bad as I thought. After running trying out the keyslot thing we ran Doran the other way. Then on to Odessa fun too, ground a bunch of rubber of the raggedy krawlers tried to go straight up the back wall got close on the first try, should not have stopped. Tried going up the side almost made that, just not enough steering travel, will have to fix that soon. So running up the backwall is still on my bucket list, Jeep did not feel light in the front, while working through all my shenanigans, that part of Odessa was fun none the less. Going down a climb backwards with the engine running backwards is kinda cool. After that we knocked out Wall street and from there putted back to the trailers. All in all a really fun day in the desert. Had a nice breakfast at Peggy Sue's, great weather almost no dust, just doesn't get better than that

I was just out there last satuday. We went shooting and then found wall st and tin can alley on our quest to find the Bismark mine. We found it and had a great time exploring. We will probly go out in a month or so because we saw about another dozen mines or so on the way out that we wanted to explore. It was getting dark so we wanted to get back to the road. Nice pictures. I think Duran and Odessa are a little out of my league. Nice pictures.

Thanks, both are doable with atleast one locker and some good spotting.

Nice pics !!! ;)

Looks like it was a beautiful day - and no dust makes it perfect !

Calico is definitely a lot of fun - plenty of places to explore (especially around the back side of the mountains). While I've done Odessa and Duran several times in my FJ, the Gatekeeper is way out of my league - but I love to sit and watch folks give it a go

I need to get out there and run Duran and Odessa during the day sometime. I've done them several times but always at night.

These pics are great. I love the one that just shows the font of the jeep coming over the ledge. :D

Was just up there on the 11th, 12, and 13th. Didn't do any wheeling other than getting back into tin can alley where we camp and shoot.
