Impact Wrenches
Impact Wrenches
After seeing someone win a Dewalt driver at Borregofest I am considering one. Any recommendations on which one is best for just wheel lug nuts such as 18 volt, 1/2", 150 ftlbs, etc. Assume you still want to use a torque wrench when tightening.

Re: Impact Wrenches
We need Ollie to chime in here....He has one on board, and donated one that was raffled off at BorregoFest this year. It was a Dewalt 18 volt, but I don't remember the model.
I use a Craftsman 19.2 volt lithium-Ion rechargeable unit in my FJ, and it, too, works very well (in fact, I used it to replace Ben's front axle in Sequoia Natl Forest a couple of months ago - the impact wrench is in the foreground on the ground...)

The Craftsman look nice. You can get just the wrench pretty cheap on eBay. It seems that Lithium batteries are hard to find and most have DiHard NiCads. I really hate NiCads unless something has changed. If you get a chance let me know your model number.

Re: Impact Wrenches
I recommend the DeWalt below. The one at the raffle was a NiCad but I carry the Lithium one here. Both will bust loose eighteen wheeler lugs but the lithium one is lighter and maintains a charge much longer. By the way... I ave 3 of these kits on my garage. They normally sell betwen $350 and $450. I'll let one go for $290.
