Route Description:
This run will be a family friendly run that will have us on foot as well as in the seat. We will take a trip North up S-2 to Blair Valley where we can check to see if the wild flowers are in bloom and check out the old wagon crossing. We will then jump back on the S-2 and head south to Vellacito Wash and take a drive back to the site of the Old Carrizo Stage Coach Station where we will look at where the Park Service is working on restoring the foundation the old station. A few years ago we took a group through here and they all didn't visit the station because of overhanging brush and pinstripe danger. These bushes have been cleared out and everyone should be able to make it back there without issue. After the stage coach station we will make an about face and back track for a bit up Vellacito Wash to Arroyo Seco Del Diablo (Devil's Dry Wash). We will run Arroyo Seco Del Diablo Canyon and make a loop back through Arroyo Tapiado. We will check out all the flash flood damage from a few weeks ago. "WE WILL NOT BE DOING DIABLO DROPOFF. DO TO THE FLOODS THIS OBSTACLE HAS BECOME HAZARDOUS." We will run Canyon Sin Nombre back to S-2 then see what kind of time we still have. If time permits, We will see about exploring some areas west of the S-2 before heading back to camp at a decent hour.

Is this really meeting up at Stagecoach Trails, or did you mean Butterfield Ranch?

Put Phil FJ and Dave Jeep on your list.

Re: Western Anza Borrego Exploration Run (Saturday - 10/19)
This run has me tempted to come out after a committed to dinner party Friday evening. I haven't explored this area of AB for quite awhile. Was going to skip this year because of another outing the following weekend, but this run and the wine tasting has me rethinking. Need to get in as much camping as possible before knee replacement #2 late November!

This run looks like a lot of fun and I wish I could make it. I just wanted to share that the SANDRA 2M repeater on Mt. Laguna (147.15) requires CTCSS tone number 107.2 for access.
