My rig is a 97TJ . Built. Dont play much in the rocks anymore tired of fixing it. Use it more now to get to the back packing areas.

Out here we have a local group of wheelers. When you think you have seen everything someone knows something you haven't seen.

I think Facebook has taken over.

Most of my buddies want me to go HAM but just havent had time to get it done.

If you are willing, it doesn't require a huge commitment to get your ham license - you can take weekend classes that let you earn your ticket in two days, or you can take practice test on line for free to test your knowledge and check your progress.

Even the old fashion way, it'll probably take a couple of hours a day for a couple of weeks using study guides.

Ham radio definitely offers an additional margin of safety when exploring the backcountry, and can be critical for communications after natural disasters - so it's worth considering making some time to get your license, IMO.

HAM is on my list. Currently job has me out of the house more than in. Going to try to hit part time next year and go mess around and catch up on some stuff I want to do.
New camera , couple more lenses, climb Mt Williamson and the HAM.
