Anza borrego this weekend??

Post by FunJunkie » Thu Aug 28, 2008 1:37 am

I originally saw a thread of some folks goin out to the desert but they moved it to Big bear, a little too far for us southerners. I got a few folks interested in running out to the desert monday or possibly a sunday night run into monday. the plan again was foiled because I forgot that Coyote was closed till the 30th but I think a run through Sin Nombre is in order.

You must really enjoy the heat. I'll be out in the Barstow/Hinkley area Friday & Saturday, should be about 100-105.

Watch out for flash flooding out there Mike, there are T-Storm's predicted for Saturday. If you go I'll bet you'll get to see some great weather related scenes.

Heat in an FJC? Mine usually stays around 65 inside. One nice thing about runnin a new rig, never even got her close to overheating out there.

The floods, hmm now that might change the routing plans, not sure we want to run sin nombre in those conditions. I'd have to change my name to, gon 2 surf canyon surge. lol tryin to outrun that would be fun though, like some adventure movie.

I would have attempted to tag along with y'all, but I am without vehicle right now and I haven't met everyone out here as of yet and I would have had to hitch a ride from the supermarket and back. Not having a 4x4 vehicle I have traveled with Dave-K6DTK and Bruce-K6BJK and we have had a blast in the past in their vehicles. With this run being familiar to me and a real fun place to trail, I would have enjoyed it if I had my vehicle up to snuff and available.

Anyhow, hope it is a great, safe run. I hope to see some fun pics afterward.

Not tryin to be a time Nazi
I figured since it's just us 2, you prolly would be there early and get yo java on so I'll just roll in meet up and roll out. I'm all packed and ready with sandwitches and stuff as well as little girl snacks and DVD's. Nothing like wheeling to the sounds of Cinderella and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse :D
If anyone else wants to meet up please be ready to roll out by 7ish since we are meeting other folks at 8.
Looks like 5 or 6 in the group right now. Should be a fun day. Bring water. it's hot!!
