I'm also going to get paint color-matched to the upper trim/headliner for painting the interior of the box and drawers so it will be easier to find things. I finished up the Herc last night and got the doors shut just as the rain started. It is supposed to rain all week, so it will probably take that long for the Herc to dry...



Lack of a garage, or for that matter pavement, makes things kind of fun. The plus side is trail-side work has become second nature (train hard, work easy).

I'm thinking wiring, water, and the removable part of the sleeper will be finished up pretty quick. I already know how those go together, so its just buying parts and assembling them. The parts aren't terribly expensive, so I'll probably order them after the 1st.

I haven't even settled on sizes for the drawers yet (height), though I think I want to go roller-bearings instead of slides so I can do custom lengths easier and much, much cheaper. The roller-bearings are $35 for 100 (enough for several drawers in both our trucks), versus $240+ per drawer for slides. I've also thought about just making them full-depth, and having partial-depth removable trays for the small stuff to ride on top. The fridge probably won't go in until March - I need to pick up another battery first, and both are pretty pricey.

Right now, I'm just happy to have my stereo back the way it should be. I'd almost forgotten what a good quality sound system sounded like...

Slow progress, hoping to get the structure fully secured, all the hatches in place, and wiring finished before the M&G. Got the speaker grills done and some wiring finished. I also got one side's structure done and bolted in, re-used the factory cargo tie-downs in the new "floor", and test fit one maintenance hatch.
