Long time no hear - sorry for my long absence. Now that I am rearing my ugly head, thought I'd catch you up on what I've been up to and see what y'all have in store for the Summer. The FJ is in need of a workout.
But first, some of you met my dear lady Pamela. Well, after my Mother passed away last Summer from pancreatic cancer, I needed an outlet in a big way. Pamela convinced me that she and I should help raise funds to fight cancer and run a half ironman triathlon. What?!

Why this? Well, her marathon experience taught her that she is no sprinter, but can do long, slow distance like nobody's business. And I needed a challenge significant enough to keep me from wanting to break things. So that's where I've been, training 6 days a week since November after never doing a swim workout in my life, and I certainly didn't run.

So after my event on April 30, I'll be ready to come play in the FJ. I'm looking forward to catching up with y'all, and I hope you and yours have been happy and healthy. I'll watch the event pages to see when I'll be able to join you on the trail.
PS - if you have or had a family member challenged with cancer, and want to make a contribution to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, just follow this link. http://pages.teamintraining.org/los/wildtri11/jstoddard
Happy Trails . . .
